Your data stays on your device. We don't collect it, we don't see it, and we can't access it.

TelluricAI ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how our iOS application handles information when you use our service.

Our Privacy-First Approach

TelluricAI is designed with privacy as its foundation. Unlike traditional AI assistants, all AI processing happens entirely on your device. Your conversations, images, and voice data are processed locally using Apple's MLX framework and never leave your iPhone.

Information We Do NOT Collect

We want to be clear about what we don't do:

  • Conversation data: Your chats with the AI are processed and stored only on your device. We never receive, store, or have access to your conversations.
  • Voice data: Speech recognition and synthesis happen on-device. Your voice is never transmitted to our servers.
  • Images and documents: Any images or documents you share with the AI are processed locally. We never see or store them.
  • Personal information: We don't require account creation or collect personal identifying information.
  • Usage tracking: We don't track how you use the app or monitor your interactions.

Information That May Be Processed

Model Downloads

When you download AI models, the download occurs from Hugging Face's servers. This process involves:

  • Your device's IP address (visible to Hugging Face during download)
  • Model metadata and file downloads

No personal data or usage information is sent during model downloads.

Web Search (Pro Feature)

If you use the optional web search feature (Pro subscription only):

  • Search queries are sent to DuckDuckGo, a privacy-focused search engine
  • DuckDuckGo does not track users or store personal search history
  • We do not log or store your search queries

App Store & Subscriptions

Subscription purchases are processed entirely by Apple. We receive:

  • Anonymous subscription status (to unlock Pro features)
  • No personal payment information or Apple ID details

On-Device Data Storage

The following data is stored locally on your device:

  • Conversation history: Stored using Apple's SwiftData framework in your app's private container
  • Downloaded models: Stored in your app's documents directory
  • App preferences: Your settings and preferences

This data:

  • Remains on your device unless you explicitly share it
  • Is protected by iOS's sandboxing security
  • Can be deleted at any time through the app's settings
  • Is removed when you uninstall the app

Third-Party Services

TelluricAI integrates with minimal third-party services:

Hugging Face

  • Purpose: AI model hosting and downloads
  • Data shared: None (only model files are downloaded)
  • Privacy policy: huggingface.co/privacy

DuckDuckGo (Pro Feature)

  • Purpose: Privacy-focused web search
  • Data shared: Search queries only (no tracking)
  • Privacy policy: duckduckgo.com/privacy

Apple App Store

  • Purpose: App distribution and subscription management
  • Data shared: Standard App Store transaction data
  • Privacy policy: apple.com/privacy

Your Privacy Controls

You have full control over your data:

  • Delete conversations: Remove individual chats or all history from Settings
  • Delete models: Remove downloaded AI models anytime
  • Privacy mode: Enable auto-clear to delete conversations when closing the app
  • Permissions: Control microphone, camera, and photo access through iOS Settings
  • Complete removal: Uninstalling the app removes all local data

Children's Privacy

TelluricAI is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children. Since all data remains on-device, there is no data collection regardless of age.

Data Security

Your data is protected by:

  • iOS App Sandbox security
  • On-device processing (no network transmission of personal data)
  • Apple's device encryption
  • No external servers storing your information

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in our practices or for legal reasons. We will notify you of significant changes through the app or our website. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
